ENTENTIKY is an endurance experiment that walks the line between performance and reality TV. It explores so-called Headline Stress Disorder, a state of anxiety caused by the constant monitoring of media messages. As part of the work, the two performers must undergo a grueling initiation that takes place live, running a 10K route right before the show, racing to arrive at the stage on time. During their route they listen to an incessant collage of news, political speeches, and interviews. Their run is streamed online and finishes directly on stage, where a choreography immediately starts. Once on stage, with the audience as active witness, the performers wrestle with the brink of personal breakdown as they are confronted with the imposed expectation of endurance.
ENTENTIKY asks following questions: How do we rise after the fall? Does it break us or do we pretend we’re ok? Can we control our emotions in a crisis, or will they engulf us? What makes us victims and when can we be heroes?
