“Silent Beat” is an intimate meeting with one woman. Through the authenticity of speaking about personal trauma to removing the voice, the work is an exploration of taking and losing control, as well as our collective humanity in regard to witnessing pain.
At first inspired by Eimear McBride novels, the work has become more intimate by integrating in my own experiences of sexual abuse and thus oscillates between a documentary and a performance.
